As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

In adherence to the social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC, we have implemented strict protocols at our clinic to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

  • Patients who have active symptoms of illness or a fever of 100 degrees or higher must call ahead to arrange after-hours dosing.
  • The number of people allowed inside the building at any given time is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines.
  • The number of people waiting in line is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines, and those present must maintain a minimum distance of six feet from one another.
  • To maintain line restrictions, patients are asked to wait in their cars until direction is given.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, on-site visitation is no longer allowed at Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center.

  • This restriction has been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services are being vetted and may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

Understanding Addiction

Understanding Addiction & Substance Abuse Recovery

Overcoming an addiction to opioids can be the largest obstacle that an individual is faced with during his or her lifetime. Once an addiction to opioids takes hold of an individual, he or she may quickly feel as if every aspect of life has become entrapped in a cycle of abuse. Life at home becomes damaged, poor performance in the workplace can lead to job loss, and run-ins with the legal system become common. Additionally, abuse of opioids can cause individuals to develop detrimental physical health issues that can become fatal if left untreated.

Medically Assisted Treatment

Medically Assisted Treatment for Opioid Abuse

Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center is here to provide you or someone that you care for with the life-saving treatment that is required in order to safely break free from the chains of addiction. Our comprehensive treatment approach provides patients with the opportunity to treat both the physical and psychological components of their addiction while appropriately preparing for a future that is substance-free. In addition to therapeutic interventions such as individual and group therapy, patients are invited to incorporate the use of medication assisted treatment into their treatment plan. The following benefits are directly linked to this form of treatment:

  • The symptoms that accompany withdrawal are eliminated, which allow patients to focus on their treatment and daily activities in an unimpaired manner.
  • Cravings for additional opioid use are diminished, reducing the risk of relapse.
  • The medications prescribed within treatment are legal prescriptions and are extremely safe when taken as prescribed and under the guidance of a licensed medical professional.
